ignorance is bliss

this is more of a rant than anything. sometimes parents amaze me. they bring their kids in to see us and they have no idea about any of their past dental work. some of them don't even know the name of the office they had just taken their kids too. then they have the nerve to get offended at you when you tell them their 3 year old child has cavities all over the place. "she brushes her teeth everyday" yeah, have you noticed?? brush your kids teeth!!!! she's 3!! i also love the line "she eats too much candy" or "she drinks a lot of juice" once again, the kid is 3!! who has the control?? don't flippin give her a candy bar and a glass of kool aid to wash it down with. and then wonder why they have cavities!! i remember as a kid having treats, sure. but i also remember brushing my flippin teeth, and my mom making sure i did. and i seem to recall visiting dr eppollito like 3 times and not having a cavity until i was 17, and by then it was my own damn fault!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when children have decaying teeth all over the head it is not just a simple "they eat too much candy" it is child neglect and in some cases, can be considered child abuse. people are so ignorant to this it is ridiculous.
