clear...

my ipod reads my mind....

it just gave me another awesome workout mix

the pot - tool

out of range - ani difranco

be mine - david gray

wake up - arcade fire

fistful of steel - rage against the machine

sail away - david gray

i feel so amazing, as clear and refreshed as if i just dove into this water!

my own

when you were young
and tiny in my arms
i rocked you to sleep
putting you at ease
away from this big, new world
and to the places you
would dream of in
your sweet little mind

you would cling to me
and call me your own
and i loved you
as if it were true

to watch you grow
is a bittersweet thing -
proud of what you are becomming
but missing when i was your shelter

the things you are going through
are not fair and not right
so when you are feeling hopeless
when you feel you are alone
rest easy in my arms
where you can find peace
and find those dreams once again
and i will love you as my own....

watch "into the wild". enough said.

i just got lost, every river that i tried to cross, and every door i ever tried was locked, oohh, and i'm just waiting till the shine wears off.....

another quiet weekend. or week i should say. i have been off since Wednesday. a took the liberty of lounging the first day. i think i needed it. i was super tired. Tuesday was an all adult patient day and that can be pretty draining. i can't wait for "spa day" Trisha!!!!!!

i still had some of mom's squash left and there was a recipe for butternut squash and sage lasagna in Martha Stewart (don't laugh). and i had a bunch of sage still in my yard. so i decided to make it. and my friend sue, the hygienist with the broken leg, is a vegetarian so i thought i would take some to her too. it came out really nice. it was super rich though. but i was proud that i actually used a recipe from Martha Stewart. i have been getting the magazine for over a year now and not once made anything.

i also made some more soap. this time i made cinnamon pumpkin. it has real pumpkin in it, which is very good for your skin. it smells amazing!! it was my own concoction. billy said he would eat it if he could!! i hope everyone needs soap for Christmas. i am going to be drowning in it!!

i spent today swiffering every inch of the house. i made this place shine like the top of the Chrysler building. i was so energized from it i even did the elliptical.

Billy spent the day staining his table project. it looks brand new compared to when he found it. i wish i had taken pictures of it before. there was a crappy veneer-like top on it that was falling apart. so he chiseled the stuff off, sanded it with his new sander, washed it off with "mineral spirits" (he found this on google), and now is staining it. this has been a process of a week. it is like his baby. now he wants to sand the spare bedroom floor and refinish it. the previous owners got purple paint all over it. he said it will be his winter project....yikes....pretty soon he will be sanding everything and anything. "look it honey, look how smooth that b%#ch is". we will be buried under a pile of soap AND sawdust this winter....

i ordered my halloween costume this week too. my friend julie and i are going to be the same thing, or twins i should say. i cant wait to get it!! it is pretty funny...

river runs deep

this river runs deep
this river runs wide
i have swam against the current
and have effortlessly just floated on by
i have been slammed on the shoals
and have maneuvered around the rocks
i have skated across the water
and have drowned in the depths
i have stood on the shoreline
and have crossed the bridges that bind
i have battled the storms
and have bathed in the sun
this river runs deep
this river runs wide
it will forever be a part of me
even after i die.

rally sons of notre dame, sing her glory and sound her fame!

this weekend is starting off nice. the weather is amazing. and we do not have to be anywhere! this morning we went and got coffee. billy has a list of to-do's - put away the air conditioner, winterize the porche, sand the table he found from "trash and treasure" day, and clean up the yard. i took the opportunity to make a couple batches of soap. mom gave me fresh lavender and rosemary from her garden. i made a "tea" with each and added the infusion to the soap. i also made a pot of potato soup with their potatoes from the garden. and tomorrow i am making chicken and dumplings with the rest of them. then this afternoon its football, football, football. go notre dame!!!!!

while my guitar gently weeps....

mom, danny and sally came to syracuse today. dan and sally had to fly home and i happened to have the day off. so after a trip to the christmas tree shoppe, tj maxx, and zebb's for lunch, we came back to my house and hung out. to pass the time dannu and i played guitar hero. he had never played before so i thought i would show him how to handle the axe. it didn't take long for him to catch on. he had a 100+ note streak on "one" by metallica......i see a family band in our future....
