where everybody knows your name.........

this week has raced by. work has definitely been hectic. dr willis has been out for weeks due to back surgery, and dr saini has been covering for him. she usually only sees adult patients, so it was quite a treat for her to get screaming, uncooperative little angels in the chair!! we are all very used to this. dr willis returns monday, and dr saini will spend the weekend either relaxing with her family or in an insane asylum!!

i am praying really hard tonight because tomorrow is the amazing car give away at drivers village!! lets hope!!! i could really use the money from that car to pay for our wedding! wouldn't that be sweet. after the contest i am driving to clayton to grace the clipper kitchen with my presence. i will be slinging chicken parms and spring rolls for the evening. yeah, cant wait!! it will be fun anyways, working there does not seem like a job, it just feels like i am hanging out with old friends. in fact the photos are a little montage in honor of the clipper!

until tomorrow...hopefully i have good news!! although i am trying really hard not to set myself up for disappointment!!

shiver me timbers, i'm sailing away......

i love my cousin trisha. she always knows what to say, or what to do. for my birthday she made me a tribute to our grandfather. she placed a photo of him and the lyrics to a song that i love that reminds me of him, shiver me timbers by bette midler. the song has made me think of grandpa for years, i would listen to it over and over again in my car, singing my guts out and blatting my eyes out. look it up and listen! it is about being an old salt on the sea and just sailing away. grandpa loved that river!! trish also decorated it with his favorite flowers, tulips, glads and red carnations. and to top it off she added one of his fishing lures. it is perfect and means the world to me. i placed it next to his cat, one of those stuffed animals that purrs and meows. billy is allergic to cats so i figured this would be my only chance to have one. and i will definitly take care of this one!!

going mobile

so to continue my lucky win on 93q. i also qualified to win a 2008 mitsubishi eclipse, worth over 20 grand. only 47 people also qualified. they are giving it away saturday at 10 at burdicks. i guess i have to pick a cd, play it in the car and if it says "u win" then i am the wiener. holy crap! lets hope i win!!

hawk-eye billy

billy is obsessed with birds, mainly hawks. we will be driving, or he will be driving i should say, down 81 doing 80 mph (because if i was driving i would be doing 67 mph) and billy will spot a hawk sitting on the top of a telephone pole in the middle of a field. "look at that hawk honey, did you see that huge hawk?" um, no. i was too busy looking at the road. i think this obsession stems for the fact that he spent countless hours in fields, around telephone poles, mainly hanging off the top of them, so he had a lot of encounters with hawks. he can even tell if one is about to find food.

one day we were driving to clayton. on route 12 there is a huge house set way back from the road. i think it is behind the matthews farm. it has been there for years. and billy, out of the blue, says "where did that house come from?? did they just build that??" my response to that was "you can spot a hawk on the top of a pole, driving a car 80 mph but you can't see a bleepin house????" he laughed all the way to clayton. he loves it when i pull one liners like that. and i love making him laugh!!

the pictures are of an ospry nest by the nimo building in clayton. billy took them, of course. i think there are 30 of them but i am only posting a few. and the obsession continues.....

won't you take me to funky town....

so we drove up to clayton saturday morning in the boxter. it was nice enough to have the top down the entire way. we had a nice weekend. had the pleasure of spending quality time with uncle mike kehoe at the family friendly establishment of the lost navigator. i believe a drunk dial was placed that evening to a man in coral springs, fl. good times.
i went to billy's niece's bridal shower sunday in massena. they had a few typical bridal shower games with little prizes. we also were asked to write advice for the bride on an index card and tricia read them aloud. i wrote that since i was marrying her uncle billy i should be the one getting advice from her. everyone found that amusing but in all seriousness, HELP!!!!! meanwhile, in clayton billy was getting a sunburn at the party in the parking lot. so needless to say by the time i got back he was definitly enjoying himself. we hung out with bazzy, bogie and tom for a bit, had a mini blender party on the porch. then billy and i had dinner together at the clipper and stayed the night at the cottage, where we will get married.
it was a perfect night there. we pulled in just as a ship was passing by. although we did bring the camera, i was the dummy who forgot to add the sd card back into the slot. i left it sitting in the card reader at home. so no new pics. we left early today because we got rained out. althought it is really nice in syracuse. oh well. happy memorial day!!

our house is a very very very fine house.....

I recently visited with Aunt Kitty and I tried to describe our new house. So these pictures are for her!! They were taken before we moved in. Billy has since taken down the ugly fence that was in the front yard. The compliments from our neighbors started flying in! I guess they hated the fence. The old couple next door were especially excited. They finally started talking to us!! I guess all we had to do was take down the fence to make friends. The lady, who is probably 80 something and maybe 5 feet tall, came outside and yelled "YOOHOO" at the site of the destruction! It was really cute. We are trying to figure out some landscaping ideas. I have some glads to plant, in honor of grandpa. The house is in great condition. It is not where we want to settle down forever but it is a nice start.

ALVIN!!!!!!!!

Last year Billy's mom had a pet chipmunk. She noticed him in the yard so she started feeding him peanuts. She would open their front door, leave a pile of peanuts on the steps, and then watch and wait. Sure enough, the little guy would know she opened the buffet, and he would run to the steps and chow down. This in itself was very entertaining, for both the chipmunk and Pat. This year I was wondering if the little guy was still around. I have no idea how long thier life span is. A couple of weeks ago we were at her house and we spotted the chipmunk! Billy took these pictures from our car in the driveway. I started narrarating as if we were taking pictures on a safari and it was very dangerous. "The north american chipmunk is a fierce predator, carefully stalking its unknowing prey of Planters salted peanuts"

luck be a lady

so today is my lucky day. on the radio station 93q, there is a "name game" every friday morning. they pick initials and if your initials are picked, you call and can win 100 bucks. my friend gabrielle is a 93q junkie and gets the inside scoop on what initials are going to be picked. it just so happened that E.S. were picked today. i, already gaining this vital information from my informant gabby the night before, woke up bright eyed this morning, even though i did not have to work. on any other day i would have hit the snooze button as much as possible. anyways, i programmed the phone number in my cell, to make it easy to redial. and ta-da...i won!!!!!! this happening to a girl who has only won two things in my life - 1. a cabbage patch premie from the big M, which the next day lay in pieces on the floor, slaughtered by our dog - and 2. the only game of bingo NOT giving money, but a Ham (it was around easter). and at 13 years old i was certainly NOT going to yell BINGO for fear i had to be seen carrying a ham home on the streets of clayton! mom was pretty upset that i didn't take advantage of this culinary delight for our easter dinner. i wanted money to go to the gap, not a pork product!!
so, i won one hundred big ones for having my name be emily sullivan. what a great way to start out my long weekend!!!!!!! i can't wait to get to the river!!
